A

All-risk policy

With this type of insurance, you are practically insured against loss of or damage to the insured item arising from any cause except those that are explicitly excluded.

B

Buildings

Privately used residential buildings as well as outbuildings including all main components, built-in furniture and equipment (within the building or attached on the outside).
Insurance also covers pools, patios, porches, tennis courts, walkways, gates, fences as well as all other constructions listed in the insurance policy.

C

Classic Cars

This is the perfect policy for your beloved vehicle. There is basically no limit as to the vehicle’s year of construction. The insurance rate is determined by taking into account the type of vehicle, its value and its annual mileage.

E

Excess

Fixed sum or percentage of an insurance claim which is borne by the insured.

H

Household contents

Household contents are all objects that are part of a household’s equipment and are used or perused privately, including money. Insurance also covers all movable objects within the household that you have acquired as tenant and that you are legally responsible for.

I

Insured location = location of risks

The insured location (=place of risks) is the building named in the insurance policy or the home of the insured. It also includes outbuildings on the same property.

M

Minimum sum insured

Some insurance policies designed by Barta & Partners require minimum sums insured, e.g. Art & Collection.

O

Objects of art

Objects of art are: furniture, paintings, drawings, engravings, prints, photos, carpets and tapestries, bridges, musical instruments, manuscripts, antiquarian books, china, sculptures, wines, stamps or coins if part of a collection; gold- or silver-plated items; collectibles and memorabilia of which you are the absolute owner; frames, protection glass, pedestals, showcases and special lighting systems. Valuables are not considered objects of art.

Obligations

Obligations are rules of behaviour that have to be followed as breaking these rules would have legal consequences.

P

Policy

A policy contains all data concerning the insured client, the location(s) of the insured item, the sum insured, the insured items, the period of insurance, the premium as well as all additional or deviating regulations.

R

Recovery costs

Costs incurred in recovering lost items or replacing them equally (e.g. travel expenses, shipping costs, costs of legal advice).

S

Sum insured

The sum insured is the highest possible sum to be paid by Barta & Partners in case of damage to or loss of the insured item, expressed in Euro. Compensation payment does not reduce the sum insured or increase the premium.

U

Underinsurance

Underinsurance means that you insure your property (for instance your home) for less than it is really worth.

V

Vintage cars

For our Classic Cars policy, there is basically no limit as to the vehicle’s year of construction. The insurance rate is determined by taking into account the type of vehicle, its value and its annual mileage.
